In the wake of SECRET INVASION, Mockingbird is alive and has returned to Earth after being held captive by the Skrulls. Ronin, her estranged husband, volunteers to help her adjust to her new life as a member of the New Avengers, but some old wounds run too deep. Mockingbird and Ronin are now part of the Avengers but Bobbi seems to want to work solo. After Secret Invasion, Mockingbird left the Skrull ship with many unattended trauma. Bobbi is on stealth mode searching a hospital and Clint is right behind her. She makes it clear that she doesn't want ex-Hawkeye to be there and he proves to her she needs him. In the hospital they find that it is actually a secret facility filled with A.I.M.

Before going after her he has a heated discussion with Bucky, the new Captain America, on what are the true intentions of having Mockingbird on the team. Clint storms off before telling Bucky he is very much like the old Cap.

Mockingbird tells Ronin that she is trying to prevent another event such as the Secret Invasion, and Ronin makes it clear that she can't do it alone. In a warehouse where Bobbi secretly held an armory Clint uses a net and traps her, then he calls for the New Avengers telling then he "has her".
